Device
The OXVA Xlim SQ is a tiny device. The body is roughly 47mm x 47 mm x 14mm, or 1.85 in x 1.85 in x ½ in. The vape has a smooth sleek body, with a metallic coloring. You can choose from 8 colors, 4 gradient colors and 4 solid colors:
Gold Blue, Purple Black, Pink Green, Arctic Ice, Pink, Black, Gold, Light Blue
For review, we received a sample in the stunning Gold Blue color. It gives that blue-gold copper shade that is very popular right now in sunglasses and other products. The coloring wraps around the rounded body, but the top and bottom of the device are a black color with a carbon fiber pattern.
With the device in front of you, you have the OXVA Xlim SQ model name embossed on the front. The airflow control slider is located on the left side of the device, allowing for fine-tuned control. At the top right of the device is a spot for connecting the included lanyard. The lanyard is a metal chain and is surprisingly very well constructed. We can easily wear the chain around the neck to keep your Xlim SQ close.
The charging port is located on the bottom of the device and the pod seats into the device on the top left of the vape. It’s held securely by magnets.
Pod Cartridge (Xlim V2 Cartridge)
The Xlim V2 cartridge by OXVA itself is a black tinted, but still highly transparent for easy viewing of the e-juice levels. The pod has a base that connects to the device, which then tapers in a pyramid shape towards the mouthpiece opening. The pods offer side fill, so we can refill with ease after loosening the silicone fill port cover.
We can purchase the cartridges in 0.6-ohm for freebase and RDL hits, or in 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm mesh coils for nic salt and MTL. Any of the OXVA Xlim V2 pods are compatible with the Xlim series of devices.
Durability
When dropped from heights of 4-5 feet, the OXVA Xlim SQ definitely drops hard, but it isn’t damaged. The pod system’s strong magnets keep the cartridge securely seated in the device. The device does not scratch easily. And the lanyard is a great way to prevent you from dropping the Xlim SQ all the time.
Does the OXVA Xlim SQ leak?
No leaking was observed when reviewing the OXVA Xlim SQ. The silicone fill port cover makes a tight seal, so nothing is going to leak out that way. And the tapered mouthpiece design traps the e-juice within the pod.
Ergonomics
The top and bottom edges of the Xlim SQ are a bit blunt against your hand, but this was observed in the other OXVA Xlim models. Overall the device is comfortable to hold. It’s neither clunky nor heavy. The metallic cover is smooth and the mouthpiece has a nice comfortable fit thanks to the tapered end.
Battery & Charging
OXVA Xlim SQ comes with a 950mAh battery. We experience no battery life issues when testing the device. It lasted a solid 8-9 hours of continuous vaping, so it can get you through a full day without issues.
The pod vape has super speedy charging, which users will appreciate. We can charge the device to full within around 30 minutes. The device has a small LED on the front, which turns green when charging. When fully charged the light turns off. The OXVA Xlim SQ is charged using a Type-C cable (not provided) that can be plugged into the charging port on the bottom of the device.
Performance
OXVA Xlim SQ might be small, but it packs a powerful punch. The 0.8 ohm (12-16W) mesh coil is pre-installed, but you can also swap to the 1.2-ohm (10-12W). With either option, you can enjoy your favorite nicotine salt e-juice delivered in a loose comfortable MTL draw. If you’d prefer to use freebase, you can try the cartridges with the 0.6-ohm (20-25W) mesh coils that are sold separately in a three-pack. With that resistance you get a satisfying RDL hit.
The Xlim SQ delivers bold throat hits and pumps out a ton of thick clouds, for such a small device. The coil pulls out excellent flavor from the e-juice. We tested this device with MRKT PLCE e-juice, in the flavor Fuji, Pear, Mangoberry, with a 2.4% nicotine content.
