The VooPoo Argus Matrix isn’t your average pod vape. Its standout feature is a futuristic, full-length curved screen that lights up to reveal a visible ‘chip’ design with every puff, making it a true tech showcase. Beyond the striking looks, it delivers an impressively solid performance. Let us take a look at this stunning product!
1. Introduction
VooPoo Argus Matrix isn’t trying to blend in. It’s a pod system with a 1350 mAh battery, 3ml pod, and a full-length curved screen that lights up with every puff. You get adjustable airflow, variable wattage up to 30 watts, and support for VooPoo’s iCOSM Code 2.0 coils. For a small device, there’s a lot to explore.
2. Design and Quality
The Argus Matrix keeps things slim with a classic pen-style shape, but everything about it feels high-end. It’s sleek and shiny, and the finish really catches the light.
The body has a split-panel design. The back is solid opaque metal. The front looks the same at first, but what looks like an opaque panel is actually a full-length curved screen using IML design. It’s completely borderless, and the whole front plate lights up when you inhale or press the button. That’s when you see the visible powercore chip layout underneath. It lights up to reveal what looks like circuitry underneath. It creates the effect of current running through a board. It gives a seriously cool futuristic effect.
Controls are right where you’d expect them to be. On the left side is a three-level airflow slider that moves smoothly. On the right is the activation button, which also controls wattage. The screen sits on the front and looks like it’s embedded directly into the Gene chip, surrounded by stylized electrical contacts. Near the bottom of that panel is a battery indicator that stays invisible until you inhale or press the button.
The USB-C charging port is located on the bottom.
3. Pod Design
The pod uses a top-fill design with a rubber plug that seals tightly, so refills aren’t messy or fussy. You can easily refill without pulling out the pod. The plastic is tinted, but not so dark that you can’t see your juice level at a glance. It holds 3ml of e-liquid, which is plenty for a full day depending on the coil and wattage.
It snaps in securely with strong magnets, no wiggle or play. The pod uses VooPoo’s iCOSM Code 2.0 coil platform, which means you’re getting solid flavor and vapor with tight control over heating. The kit includes two coil options: a 0.4-ohm for a warmer, more open draw and a 0.7-ohm for a balanced MTL or restricted DL hit.
3.1 Does the VooPoo Argus Matrix leak?
The Argus Matrix doesn’t leak, even after days of regular use. The side-fill port closes firmly, and the coil fit is tight with no juice creeping out around the edges. It’s the kind of setup you can toss in a bag without thinking twice.
3.2 Durability
The VooPoo Argus Matrix holds up well with day-to-day use. The metal back resists scratches, and the finish stays looking clean even after days in a pocket with keys. The full front screen might seem delicate like it would be delicate, but it didn’t crack or scratch when dropped. The Matrix feels like a device meant to be used, not babied.
3.3 Ergonomics
The VooPoo Argus Matrix has a smooth, all-curved body that feels comfortable and natural to hold. Its pen-style shape makes it easy to grip without slipping or shifting around. The airflow slider and activation button aren’t directly under your thumb but are still easy to reach with one hand. The mouthpiece is slightly tapered, which adds to the comfort and helps to create a solid seal when you inhale.
4. Battery and Charging
The 1350 mAh battery is well matched to the Matrix’s 30-watt output. It lasts about 12 to 13 hours with consistent use, which makes it easy to get through a full day without reaching for a charger. It holds up even longer at lower wattages.
The battery level stays out of sight when idle, but lights up with each puff. You get four bars, each representing 20 percent, so it’s easy to track where you’re at. Charging takes about 45 minutes from empty, which feels pretty reasonable given the size.
5. Performance
The VooPoo Argus Matrix delivers consistent, flavorful hits whether you use the auto-draw or the button. The auto-draw is sensitive and fires without delay, while the button gives you that extra bit of control if you want it. Both included coils heat evenly and bring out the depth in whatever juice you’re using. The vapor is warm, smooth, and dense, with a full-bodied flavor that holds up across multiple sessions.
Airflow adjustment is simple and gives you real flexibility. You can go from a tight, restricted draw to something more open with just a small slide. Wattage changes are just as easy. Press the activation button three times to bring up the wattage, then click to cycle through. Stop where you want, and the device locks it in automatically once the screen goes dark.
VooPoo rates the coils for 100 mL of use. During testing, we didn’t get a chance to try through 100 mL of refills, but the coil held up exceptionally well through refill after refill without losing clarity or performance. That kind of coil life is rare.
6. Price
The VooPoo Argus Matrix is currently available for pre-sale through VooPoo for $35.99. It’s priced a little higher than some other pod systems, but you’re getting more in return. The build feels solid, the screen and interface are more advanced than usual, and the long-lasting coils mean fewer replacements. You might only need a new one once or twice a month, which cuts down on running costs over time.
7. Verdict
The VooPoo Argus Matrix feels like VooPoo setting a new bar for what a pod vape can be. It’s not just about style, though the curved screen and visible chip design definitely make a statement. What stands out is how the vape feels finished. Every part of the design serves a purpose, from the way the screen blends into the front panel to how easily the pod clicks into place. It’s clear VooPoo wanted this to look sharp, but also work well day to day. And it does.
It’s not the cheapest pod on the market, and the high-gloss finish might not be everyone’s favorite for fingerprints. But if you’re looking for something that feels refined without giving up usability or coil longevity, this one hits a sweet spot. The Matrix delivers more than just looks – it’s built to be used, not just admired.
