Geekvape has recently rolled out another appealing mod kit, the Geekvape Aegis Mini 2, aka M100, as a follow-up to its legendary Aegis series. We did reviews on several Aegis products before, such as the Geekvape Aegis Nano and Hero. Although they come in a variety of types, ranging from tank mods to pod systems, we found something in common—they all strive to improve user experience to the best. We do love the way how they serve our vaping experience in every bit of detail.
Geekvape Aegis Mini 2 is a mod tank with a max wattage at 100W. Its e-liquid capacity is at an average level of 3.5ml. It runs on a built-in single 2,500mAh battery, coupled with a Type-C charging port for revving the engine up. With an array of 13 Aegis predecessors lining up before the Aegis Mini 2, we’re so keen to see whether this updated stylish device will outshine the others. To find out the answer, we’ve done weeks of tests on the product and summarized its pros and cons as below.

The Aegis Mini 2 is compatible with all Geekvape’s B series coils. We used two juices, one fruit-flavored and another tobacco, to test how the coil goes with different flavors. To simply put, the coil is a better match for fruity e-liquid. We love the authentic refreshing sweetness it pumps out in our mouths. In comparison, tobacco flavor sort of falls flat with no surprise.
Throughout the test, we refilled the pod for about four times, and the coil did really great until we used up the last drop of liquid, without any burnt taste giving off. The only flaw is about its flavor loss. After the third refills, we began to perceive a decline in flavor intensity, but it’s acceptable.
Geekvape Aegis Mini 2 offers various output modes for us to choose from. Under its power mode or bypass mode, the new mini device can fire up to a wattage at 100W. But since we only got a 0.2Ω coil, we just made the device run on a suitable range from 50W to 58W to test its cloud performance. Great, the vapor it produced at this output level is smooth and moisturizing.

The Geekvape Aegis Mini 2 comes off really well in terms of its functions available. In addition to the regular power mode and bypass mode, it can also fit in with more complicated scenarios and requirements with the TC (temperature control) mode, VPC (variable power curve) mode and an interesting stealth mode. All these come together to make the M100 a versatile mod kit which can be tailored to the needs of each and every user. And of course, M100 is more tailored for experienced vapers to take good advantage of so many adjustable set-ups.
Temperature Control Mode
Let’s start from Aegis Mini 2’s TC mode. The temperature range it offers is wide enough from 100 to 315°C, from which we can set a value we like to heat our e-liquid. As the heating temperature varies, so does the vapor’s temperature, amount, flavor and intensity. That’s why the TC mode plays a vital role in making a vaping device easy and customizable. We don’t have to manually adjust power output to vaporize the e-liquid at a constant temperature—the device can do it automatically, bravo! We heated it up to 200°C along the way. Every draw we took was stable, smooth and under control.
Variable Power Curve Mode
To be frank, we’re a big fan of Aegis Mini 2’s VPC mode. We’re glad with any of a device that enables us to set varying wattage output over a certain puff duration at our own preference. The Geekvape Aegis Mini 2 allows vapers to set the power curve at 5 levels at your own increment.
For example, here is our power setting in the test: 30W, 32W, 35W, 37W and 50W. For the first 5 seconds, the device was fired at the watts that exactly correspond to the five set values. From the 6 seconds on, if we’re still vaping on it, the wattage output remained constant at 50W, namely the last value we set.
The ideal wattage curve is down to personal preference. For example, if we don’t like hot vapor at initial inhaling, we can set a lower wattage value for the first two seconds and fine tune it to higher ones for the next seconds. If we don’t amend the values, the set power curve will be applied in all our firing cycles once we switch to the VPC mode.
Stealth Mode
Stealth mode is a fun and innovative function that we could also find in Aegis Mini 2’s previous generations, such as the Aegis X and Aegis mini. Aegis Mini 2 goes into the stealth mode when we hold the “+”, “-” and fire buttons for 2 seconds together. It allows us to breathe out only a small plume of vapor, so that the vapor is barely visible. Meanwhile, the screen display will also be shut down. Though this mode is aiming for very limited occasions, it might be a big help.
Overall Quality and Design – 8
Appearance
Both the mod and atomizer are mainly constructed of matte materials, good news for those who hate fingerprints on their devices. Meanwhile, Geekvape also manages to make the Aegis Mini 2 look more novel by adding some stylish decorations.
The middle part of the Aegis Mini 2 mod is trimmed with a shiny rectangle-shaped frame. And the rear side is covered by a patch of sleek leather, paired with some well-arranged exposed threads. Next to the leather heel are two metal plates with a brand logo printed on them. The metals are crafted with the wire drawing technique, taking Aegis Mini 2’s design to the next level. Moreover, Aegis Mini 2 uses anti-slip rubber at its top and bottom, to make sure the device keeps its feet when put aside. When we hold the device in hand, the grip comes as effortless and comfortable. We love the leather side especially—it feels really smooth and waxy.
Airflow
Geekvape Aegis Mini 2 features an adjustable airflow control system. We can tune the airflow to the degree we like by rotating the ring at the top of the tank. The resistance of the ring is moderate, so it doesn’t take many efforts to adjust the airflow.
Tank
Aegis Mini 2 mod kit comes with a Geekvape Z nano 2 tank. It is transparent, so we can see the remaining liquid inside. It connects to the body with a traditional 510 thread. Even though from the perspective of ease-of-use, 510 thread doesn’t compare with magnet connection, the 510 thread is always reliable and safe. As usual, we vote up for the 510 connection design.
Battery
Geekvape Aegis Mini 2 runs on an internal single 2,500mAh battery. It’s enough for daily use, especially when we run the device on a higher-resistance coil. However, the battery capacity might fall short of our expectations if we try to go up to 100W all day long. Although 2,500mAh is an obvious restriction on battery life, it is exactly for this reason that a mod device can be condensed in such a mini size with various functions covered in the meantime. That’s more or less making a balance between small form factors and long battery life.
We have to mention some thoughtful designs about Geekvape Aegis Mini 2’s charging. First, over the Type-C charging port is a rubber flip cover to resist water or dust infiltration. The cover’s workmanship is fine. After it’s closed, it stays put no matter how hard we shake the device. What’s more, as the charging port lies next to the 510 connection at the top of the mod, M100 can stand upright when charged. We’re really fond of such careful attentions to user experience.
Quality
As most Geekvape products, Aegis Mini 2 is resistant to water, shock and dust. We did a drop test exactly as we had on the Freemax Marvos to examine how Aegis Mini 2 would perform when it’s exposed to great external forces. We removed the tank from the device, and let the mod fall to the ground from more than one meter high. The mod was as good as new, without any scratches left on the surface.
We also buried the mod in sands and then washed the sands away to see how it coped with dust and water. The screen was still well-working and showed no delay there. We took several puffs on the Aegis Mini 2 after reconnecting the mod to the tank, the vapor and flavor were unaffected. To conclude, Geekvape M100 is a reliable tri-proof product and could possibly have a fairly long service life.
M100’s build quality is awe-inspiring generally, but we found a bit of liquid winding up at the bottom of the atomizer anyway after we left the device idle for about four days. It’s a big toughie for us to clean up the liquid that split over to the interior slots.
Ease of Use – 8
Buttons
Aegis Mini 2’s buttons are wonderful—they feature user-friendly design with no wobbling and slow response. We especially love the “+” and “-” buttons since they both bend inwards, shaped into an ergonomic curved surface which is quite convenient for pressing. The mod also comes with a sliding switch designed for locking or unlocking the fire button, a smart idea we can also find in the previous Geekvape L200. The special switch saves us lots of troubles like clicking the fire button for three or five times to set a lock.
The only complaint is that we have great difficulties to slide the switch. That’s probably because the switch is made of slippery materials. And although the slide is specially engraved with many anti-slip bumps, they just make the switch even harder to control somehow.
Operations
Geekvape Aegis Mini 2 offers a clear operation manual for us to follow. The overall operation difficulty is acceptable. With so many functions there for use, it does require some concentration to get the hang of them anyway. But you can get your hands on as long as taking some time in reading the manual.
We ran into some troubles in operating the Aegis Mini 2. First, when we pressed the fire button for five times to power off the device, every pressing quickly activated firing. It also happened when we pressed the button three times to change a mode. That could increase the chance of burning out coils. The second trouble is more or less a personal one. For the first time when we pressed the button trying to switch modes, we had no idea whether we succeeded as the screen didn’t offer clear reminders. It only changed some colors on the screen. We prefer more explicit guides or reminders.

We’ve checked the prices of other Aegis series mod kits at Geekvape’s official online store. For your information, Aegis X is sold for $96.5 and Aegis Max for $68. If we only make a comparison among the three products, Aegis Mini 2 stands at the middle obviously. The price actually implies Aegis Mini 2’s positioning in the market—it’s more suitable for intermediate vapers. The Aegis X costs more largely because it powers up to 200W, double the Aegis Mini 2’s maximum wattage, and runs on dual 18650 batteries for much longer vaping duration. The Aegis Max is more of a starter kit, providing very limited choices in functions.
Overall Thoughts
The Geekvape Aegis Mini 2 mod kit is to a greater or lesser degree designed for intermediate vapers. It supports multiple output modes that allow for fine-tuned customization, such as the VPC, TC and stealth modes. However, its specifications don’t look as powerful as those traditional giant mod kits. Its maximum wattage is only at 100W, battery capacity at 2,500mAh, and tank capacity at 3.5ml. Nevertheless, meanwhile, it’s those spec limitations that have shaped M100 to such a portable and ergonomic mini-size device. Maybe you need to make a balance among various factors before purchasing M100. But one thing is for sure, M100’s vapor performance will not let you down.
