Introduction

Aspire has recently launched a new pod system, the Prime X, as an updated version of the existing Nautilus Prime Pod Kit. According to the Aspire, the pod is outfitted with a wonderful atomizer that makes for unparalleled vaporization. It’s for this reason that we’re really excited about the new launch and desperate to know what would happen in our tests.

The Prime X is powered by a single 18650 battery. Its output range goes from 1 to 60W, a little wider than other Aspire pod kits such as the 16W AVP Cube and 40W Onixx specially designed for vape starters. Empowered by a smart ASP Chipset inside, Prime X can deliver impressive and stable performance. The kit comes with two different pods that match coils at different resistance, aiming to provide users with various set-ups for MTL and restrictive DTL vaping. To check out whether the Prime X could distinguish itself from a sea of AIO kits in the market, we did weeks of tests on the device. Come and read our review below!

Aspire Nautilus Prime X

Build Quality and Design

Right out of the box the Nautilus Prime X feels really comfortable in the hands. It comes with a compact size of 90mm by 45mm by 25mm and a decent lightweight of 110g. It feels solid but not weighty with a 18650 battery.

The mainframe comes with durable zinc alloy and boasts a soft leather design, providing an elegant look and comfortable touch. There is a large branding “ Nautilus Prime X” on the front of the device.

The intuitive firing button and two adjustment buttons are all perfectly positioned and have a very nice tactile click to them. It boasts an 0.96inch TFT colour screen with 5 selectable UI colour options and adjustable brightness to meet different preferences. It clearly displays all the vaping info, such as wattage, coil resistance, puff counter etc.

Aspire Nautilus Prime X Features

The Aspire Nautilus Prime X Incorporates a powerful ASP Chipset that works extremely well to provide comfortable vaping experience. It boasts a 0.001S fast heating response. Nautilus Prime X adopts various safety protections such as short-circuit protection, overheat protection, over-discharge protection, overcharge protection, 10S overtime protection and low voltage protection.

Pod and Coils

The Aspire Nautilus Prime X is compatible with a 4ml pod and uses a convenient side-fill design, simply lifting the silicone seal to refill. I have experienced no leaking during my testing. The kit comes with two different coils to meet different vaping needs. These coils also come with nice longevity. It can last for 30-40mls of moderately sweet e-liquid before needing replacement. The Nautilus Prime X boasts an airflow design with a slider located on the front of the device. The airflow is fantastic with smooth and quiet across the board.

I started to test the Nautilus Mesh Coil 0.7ohm (rated for 20W-25W) with my favourite Dinner Lady Lemon Tart nic salt. I can get perfect flavour at 22w with the airflow 3/4 open. It still works well with 25Wwith the airflow wide open, providing a flavourful and warm restricted direct lung vape. A flavourful and warm MTL vape can be achieved when rated for 17W, with the airflow closed down. Let’s move to the 1.80hm coil, rated for 10W-14W. I can get the best result at 13W, with the airflow fully closed. It was a tight MTL draw with great flavour and warmth.

Verdict

Overall, Aspire did an excellent job with the pod mod kit. I’m really impressed by its well-built quality and hard to find cons. It is an ideal device for intermediate vapers thanks to its easy operation and powerful functions. If you are in the market for a portable vape kit offering decent flavour, this is the one worth buying.
