Design & Quality
Body
The Geekvape E100 design is sleek and modern without being overly masculine. The body is wrapped in a soft silicone cover that keeps the device from feeling too stark and industrial. On the backside of the vape, there is faux leather padding, common in this style of pod mods. The stitching is very beautiful and is sure to last a long time. The Geekvape branding runs up the side of the device. And on the left-hand side, there is a slider that acts as a locking mechanism, as we’ve seen lots of time in other Geekvape Aegis high-powered devices.
On the front of the Aegis Eteno, there is a large activation button located at the top. Directly below that is a 1.06-inch screen for displaying the mode, battery, wattage, ohms, voltage, and puff count. And below the screen are the wattage adjustment buttons (and navigation buttons) and the Type-C charging port. The screen has a beautiful design that displays all the need-to-know information in an easy-to-read format.
There are at least seven color variants to choose from: Blue, Beige, Red, Black, Rainbow, Volcanic Grey, and Galaxy Grey.
Pod
The refillable glass tank holds 4.5 mL of e-juice. With a pod volume of this size, you can hold e-juice to last one or two days (depending on how heavy user you’re) before needing a refill. You will need to install one of the two provided coils (0.2ohm and 0.4ohm) into the bottom of the tank before the first use.
Still, we like the intuitive press-fit mechanism—it’s effortless to push a coil in. While pulling it out is sort of a fiddle. Fortunately, Geekvape provides a tiny wrench in the kit to help with the issue. You can also see it as an inevitable trade-off situation, as the pod doesn’t leak at all.
The airflow control ring is located at the top of the tank, instead of the bottom, to further prevent leakage. To adjust the airflow, you turn the ring to the degree you like. When you unscrew the mouthpiece from the top of the device, you can access two fill ports for easy access. The tank is held onto the body by magnets.
Battery & Charging
There is no internal battery included with the Geekvape E100 pod mod. You will need to install a 18650 battery to get started. In most cases, it’ll cost $3-10 for each battery, and you should keep at least two. Geekvape recommends a high-rate battery with a discharge current greater than or equal to 30A.
Unfortunately, the Geekvape E100 screen does not display an exact charging percentage. It uses the old-fashioned battery bar, so it’s time to charge when it turns red. When charging, the battery bar repeatedly fills up.
Durability
The design of the Geekvape E100 is well-suited to survive the ins and outs of your daily life. The body is covered by soft silicone, which protects the device from falls and reduces the chance of damaging scratches. And the glass pod shouldn’t take a direct hit with most falls with the mouthpiece.
The device has received an IP68 rating meaning it protects against sand and dust infiltration and can be submerged for 30 minutes in water with a depth of 1.5 meters. If you purchase this device, it should be able to handle the abuses of daily use.
Does the E100 leak?
The Geekvape E100 does not leak. We haven’t even observed condensation accumulating underneath the coil near the contacts. While there is no e-juice leaking out of the bottom of the device, there is e-juice under the mouthpiece. If you aren’t careful when removing the mouthpiece to refill the tank, you could spill some of this e-juice or get it on your hands.
Ergonomics
The Geekvape E100 is very comfortable to hold and carry. The body is covered in soft, supple silicon that feels luxurious in your hand and makes gripping the device a breeze. The faux leather on the device’s backside is nicely padded to support your hand.
Function
To turn the Geekvape E100 off, simply press the larger top button 5x in quick succession. There is no automatic draw sensor, so this same button is used each time you hit the vape. The pod mod has a slider locking mechanism on the left-hand side, which saves you from the hassle of pressing the firing button 3x.
You can adjust the brightness of the device by holding the activation button and plus or minus button simultaneously. The 1.06-inch screen provides all the information you need in an elegant format.
Check out this breakdown of the information displayed on the menu, moving from top to bottom and left to right:
- Mode– the current mode
- Battery Life– a battery bar with no percentage displayed
- Watt – the current wattage displayed in large white letters
- Ohms– the resistance of the mesh coil currently installed
- Volts– the voltage
- Time– the total time of the last draw in seconds
To enter the settings menu, press the fire button three times in quick succession. The Mode name will turn orange for a few seconds, during which you can use the bottom buttons to cycle through the following modes:
- SMART
- POWER
- BOOSTING
- TC-NI
- TC-TI
- TC-SS
- TC-VR
- VPC
Although GeekvapeAegis Eteno is a compact and handy pod mod, it’s surprisingly featured with working modes we can only see in advanced vape mods. It allows for temp control, and variable power curve set-up which enables us to customize the wattage in every second.
Performance
The E100 by Geekvape offers a fantastic vaping experience regardless of your needs or vaping preferences. With eight different modes, you can customize the pod mod to perform however you like to vape. Or you can go with the easy option, Smart Mode. Regardless of your choice, the hits are warm and throaty. The 0.2ohm mesh coil 60-70 watts, delivers intense hits and massive vapor clouds. The 0.4ohm coil, optimized for 40-50 watts, offers much smoother hits with voluminous clouds to match. Each DTL hit delivers intense flavor from your favorite e-juice.
Ease of Use
Overall the Geekvape E100 is easy to use as long as you can get comfortable with changing coils and using external 18650 batteries. Most experienced vapers will have no issue learning how to use this device. And if you have any questions, you can refer to the User Manual to learn more about the nuances of the Geekvape E100. New vapers will have more of a learning curve, especially if they’re used to plug-and-play disposables.
Price
GeekvapeE100 (Aegis Eteno) Pod Mod Kit: $32.69 at Sourcemore / £59 at Vapesourcing.uk (on sale)
When the device is not on sale, it’s priced at $45-$55 at most vape stores. This pricing is right on the edge of being a bit much. But some retailers are handing out coupons so you might get the entire kit with less than $40.
It’s a really fair price point. We think the lightweight design, comfortable padding, shock-protected pod, and beautiful screen are great features. And since you’ll be using external batteries, you can keep this device long after replacing your first set of 18650 batteries. Just don’t forget to factor in the cost of coil replacements and batteries.
Verdict
The Geekvape E100 is an incredible pod mod device. The design is a fantastic mix of form and function thanks to its minimal weight and silicone body wrap. The pod is uniquely designed to protect against drops while still holding 4.5 mL of e-juice at a time. The screen has a simple yet elegant design.
The Geekvape E100 requires an external 18650 battery to function. The device doesn’t leak and it produces thick voluminous clouds with excellent flavor delivery. We didn’t find any negative features of this device worth noting!
