During a Friday press conference in Ottawa, advocates—including a University of Ottawa doctor and representatives from anti-smoking groups—called on federal Health Minister Marjorie Michel to act. Their plea comes despite a recent Health Canada report indicating that over 20% of those who quit smoking in 2024 used vapes as a cessation tool.
