Aspire are known for many high-quality devices with portable use and multiple functionalities, from Aspire K Lite to Nautilus Prime X. Here we are with their latest device, Aspire Onixx 40W Kit.
Powered by an integrated 2000mAh battery, it features an output range from 1-40W. Paired with the Aspire ONIXX Tank and utilizes the BP Coil Series, the Onixx delivers all-day satisfying flavour and vapour.
Adopted the ASP Chipset, it boasts a full slew of protection to safeguard against the failure of the device. Let’s find out what else is going on with the Aspire Onixx, and whether it’s for you.
Build Quality and Design
Right out of the box the Aspire Onixx feels very comfortable in the hands. The entire construction is well built and the machining is excellent top-notch. It continues the popular BP80 appearance design and is constructed of the metallic zinc alloy and features upholstered soft leather, providing a stunning and high-quality look.
This is a portable device measuring just 85mm length, 29mm width and a depth of 23mm. The fire button and two adjustment buttons have a very nice tactile click to them. All the information you would need is displayed on the 0.87inch OLED display screen:
Battery Icon, Wattage Icon, Puff time in seconds, Volt and Resistance. The Aspire Onixx Kit is available in five colours: Red Gradient, Blue Gradient, Maroon Gradient, Black and Gunmetal Denim.
Aspire Onixx Nevigation
The Aspire Onixx is very easy to operate. You can simply press the fire button for five times to turn the device on and off, press the fire button for 3 times to enter the standby mode.
You can also adjust the output wattage via the uo and down button. Equided with the Aspire ASP chipset, it adopts a wide range of safety features to provide a satisfying vaping experience, such as overcharge protection, short circuit protection, overheat protection and low voltage protection.
Aspire ONIXX Sub-Ohm Tank
The Aspire Onixx is paired with a 3mL sub-ohm tank, which is constructed by superior stainless steel and comes with a 20.5mm diameter. The included drip tip meets your lip pleasantly.
The kit comes with 2 different coils to meet different vaping needs, the 0.6ohm BP Mesh Coil and 1.0ohm BP Coil. At the very beginning, the tank is a little bit tight because of the dry O-rings. It adopts a convenient top-fill design so you need to unscrew the top cap to fill your favourite e-juices.
The Aspire Onixx uses an adjustable airflow with five holes on one side of the device. You can adjust it dependant on your own vaping style. On the other side of the device, it has a large rectangle hole that provides dense clouds and enormous airflow.
Firstly, I tested the 1.0ohm coil rated for 10w and I found it performed best when rated for 13W with two holes. You can get a nice RDTL vape and an airy MTL when the airflow is fully opened.
If you are pursuing a decent tight MTL, one airhole is recommended. I’m very impressed by the flavour from the 1.0ohm coil, which surely satisfied the taste buds of most MTL vapers. The 0.6ohm coil comes with a decent DTL vape, which is a little bit restricted when the airflow is fully opened. I got a warm MTL vape with a single hole.
Battery Performance
The Aspire Onixx has a massive 2000mAh battery which is perfect for those who are out and about all day without access to a charger. It equips with Type-C quick charging so that you can get stable power and optimized performance anytime and anywhere. Using the 1.0ohm coil, I found the battery lasted me about two days.
Verdict
Aspire Onixx is a compact vape kit, providing a durable, powerful and enjoyable vape experience within a small form factor. With all that said, do I recommend this kit or not? Like I said before, I really like this kit thanks to its durable construction, decent flavour, great coil and tanks, multiple functions.
