1. Introduction
Today, we are looking at a very interesting high-capacity disposable from Geek Bar. The Geek Bar Pulse is a powerful vape with two different modes, a large LED screen, dual mesh coil, bite-friendly mouthpiece, and vibrant bold design. The two modes of the Geek Bar Pulse – normal and pulse – can offer 15,000 or 7,500 puffs, respectively. If this short overview has piqued your interest, we invite you to stick around and learn more about this disposable in our comprehensive review!
2. Flavor
The Geek Bar Pulse comes in 15 different flavors, including Mexican Mango, Blow Pop, Pink Lemonade, White Gummy Ice, Sour Apple Ice, Blue Razz Ice, California Cherry, Fcuking FAB, Juicy Peach Ice, Meta Moon, Miami Mint, Strawberry Banana, Strawberry Mango, Tropical Rainbow Blast, and Watermelon Ice.
Unfortunately, we can’t speak to the specifics of most of these flavors because we only received two for review – Watermelon Ice and Strawberry Banana. But you can read our review of these flavors to see if the Pulse sounds compelling from a flavor perspective:
Watermelon Ice – The flavor is very delicate, almost imperceptible on the inhale – but cooling. With each exhale, you are left with the lingering flavor of sweet watermelon and a refreshing icy finish. 4/5
Strawberry Banana – This flavor is very reminiscent of the strawberry and banana Wonka Runts or Strawberry Banana laffy taffy. On the inhale, you get the creamy banana flavor, while the sweet, fresh strawberry flavor jumps out on the exhale. 5/5
3. Design & Quality
The Geek Bar Pulse is visually interesting and appealing. The rectangular disposable is rounded on all sides, with the right side dedicated to an LED screen. The front of the vape sports the design of a planet with the interior of the planet with a raised tactile design. Each flavor has a different planet and color scheme. Sitting just on top of the planet is the flavor name, and above that, you’ll find the Geek Bar branding.
On the back is more embossed Geek Bar branding with the tagline “MAY THE PULSE BE WITH YOU.” The offset mouthpiece is molded from the same colored plastic that makes up the body but is also covered with a clear rubberized material.
The bottom has the Type-C USB port, as expected, plus a slider with three settings. When the slider is set to Close (each side is marked) the vape is locked and will not activate if you try to inhale. The middle setting is the Normal mode, which can output up to 15,000 puffs. And when the slider is set to Pulse, the disposable can offer up to 7,500 puffs.
3.1 Durability
The Geek Bar Pulse is built like a tank. The polycarbonate body is robust, and the screen is secure behind a thick plastic shell. It would take quite a lot of abuse to cause serious damage to the durable Pulse vape.
3.2 Does the Geek Bar Pulse leak?
No, the Geek Bar Pulse does a great job of keeping the 5% e-juice contained within the tank. If you use the Pulse, you can rest assured that you won’t have any messes to clean up or slipper e-juice on your hands. This is a relief for those who like a clean, hassle-free vaping experience.
3.3 Ergonomics
The ergonomic design of the Geek Bar Pulse is one of its strongest points. The rounded body feels fantastic in the palm, and the bite-friendly rubberized covering on the mouthpiece makes it comfortable to vape while protecting your teeth.
4. Battery and Charging
Geek Bar doesn’t outwardly market the specifics of the Pulse battery, but eventually, we determined that the battery within the disposable is a 650 mAh capacity battery. We’ve seen this battery capacity used in many other high puff count vapes recently. It seems to be a good choice for brands looking to offer an acceptable battery life while maximizing the e-juice tank size.
The Geek Bar Pulse performed a little under expectations where battery life is concerned. We expected an 8-9 hour lifespan and seemed to get more like 6-7 hours, with heavy, consistent vaping. Most likely, the culprit is the beautiful but battery-intensive screen. This is definitely worth the consideration for high-capacity vapers who don’t have access to a charger throughout the day. More moderate vapers can expect a much longer lifespan out of a single charge.
The battery level can be closely monitored on the screen, which displays the remaining battery percentage and the remaining e-juice percentage. The screen also has a visual puff indicator (Normal mode) and rocket indicator (Pulse mode). Users can use the screen to anticipate charging sessions, which take about 30 minutes.
5. Performance
The Geek Bar Pulse offers two distinct styles of vaping with the Normal and Pulse mode options. The Normal mode conserves more e-juice and battery – delivering more modest clouds and flavor – but extends the puff count of the device to 15,000!
The Pulse puts the disposable into supercharge mode. The flavor is enhanced, the clouds are much bigger, and the wattage is increased to 20 but at the cost of puff capacity, which falls to 7,500 puffs. It’s worth noting that 7,500 puffs are still high-capacity, but the Pulse mode cuts the maximum possible puff count in half!
The vape has a dual mesh coil setup, so whichever mode you prefer, you are sure to get consistent, warm, and comfortable hits. The slider doesn’t seem to change airflow much. Both modes use an MTL or mouth-to-lung airflow. Ultimately, the choice is yours!
6. Price
We were very surprised to learn that the Pulse is available for around $15 – $18 from multiple online retailers! The price is consistent and highly competitive. We’ve never seen a disposable offering a 15,000 puff count and full LED screen for that price range. Here are some of the options:
- Perfect Vape – $15.25
- Element Vape – $14.99
- Eight Vape – $14.88 (coupon code: MVR10)
- VapeSourcing – $13.99 (coupon code: GBPD)
7. Verdict
In wrapping up our comprehensive review of the Geek Bar Pulse, it’s evident that this high-capacity disposable vape brings a lot to the table for its price range. From the 15 available flavors to the dual mesh coil setup ensuring consistent hits, there’s a lot to love about this device. The unique design with an LED screen and a robust build adds to its appeal, ensuring a visually pleasing and durable vaping experience.
While we only had the opportunity to test two of the flavors, both Watermelon Ice and Strawberry Banana delivered on taste, with Strawberry Banana standing out for its exceptional flavor profile. The ergonomics of the device are on point, offering a comfortable grip and a bite-friendly mouthpiece, which is a thoughtful addition.
The two modes – Normal and Pulse – offer versatility depending on whether you prefer a longer-lasting device or a more intense vaping experience. That said, the battery life did fall a bit short of expectations, especially in Pulse mode, and this is something potential users might want to consider, especially if they don’t have regular access to a charger during the day.
All in all, the Geek Bar Pulse stands out in the crowded market of disposable vapes, providing a robust, flavorful, and versatile vaping experience at an affordable price. Whether you’re a seasoned vaper or just starting out, the Pulse is worth considering for its unique features, expansive flavor options, and undeniable value for money.
