The VOOPOO Argus G4 and Argus G4 Mini are clearly part of the same family, but they are not trying to be the same device. The full Argus G4 is the more feature-rich option, with a screen, higher output range, adjustable wattage, and a more premium build. The Argus G4 Mini trims things down into a simpler, lighter pod that keeps the same general idea but removes the extra controls.

The main shared feature is the ARGUS Multi-Ohm Cartridge, which lets you switch between two vaping styles by flipping the pod around. On the Mini, that is especially important because there is no wattage menu or screen to manage. On the full G4, it works alongside the screen, adjustable power, and airflow control to give you a more customizable setup.
Table of Contents
1. Design and Quality
The Argus G4 is easily the prettier device of the two. It has a more dressed-up look, especially with the 0.85-inch TFT screen. The finish has a slightly luminescent, almost pearlescent quality to it, so it catches the light in a way that makes the device look expensive. It still feels compact enough for daily carry, but next to the Mini, it clearly looks like the more premium pod.
The Mini is more understated. It has a cleaner, simpler aluminum alloy body and feels more stripped back. It does not have the same shine or screen presence as the full G4, but it also does not feel cheap. It is more pocket-friendly and minimal, while the G4 feels more polished and visually interesting.
The biggest visual difference is the front of the device. The G4 gives you a proper screen for checking settings, wattage, and battery information. The G4 Mini uses the Energy Bar instead, with white for 0.7Ω mode, green for 1.0Ω mode, and four battery bars in 25% steps.
2.1 Pod Design
The pod design is where the G4 and G4 Mini feel most closely related. Both use VOOPOO’s ARGUS Multi-Ohm Cartridge, which gives you two resistance options from one pod. You can switch between 0.7Ω and 1.0Ω by flipping the cartridge around:
- The 0.7Ω mode is the warmer, airier option. It is better for loose MTL or RDL.
- The 1.0Ω mode is tighter and more classic MTL.
On the full G4, that cartridge works alongside adjustable wattage and the screen, so you have more control over how each mode feels. On the Mini, the same flip design does more of the work because there is no manual wattage menu.
The 3.5mL capacity is generous for this kind of device. Plenty of pod kits sit around 2mL, especially in TPD markets, so the Standard cartridge gives you more room between refills. The Argus G4 and G4 Mini also use a top-fill design, so you do not have to pull the whole pod out every time you refill. You just pop the silicone cap on the side, fill it, and keep going.
2.2 Does the Argus G4 or G4 Mini leak?
No refillable cartridge is completely immune to leakage, especially with heat, thin e-liquid, overfilling, or long-term wear. But both devices made a good impression in testing. We observed no leaking from the Argus G4 or the G4 Mini.
The cartridges sit securely, the seals feel tight, and VOOPOO’s iCOSM CODE 2.0 design seems to be doing its job. The top-fill setup also helps because you are not constantly pulling the cartridges out and disturbing the connection area every time you refill.
2.3 Durability
The Argus G4 feels like the sturdier and more premium device of the two. It has more weight, more visible hardware, and a more substantial body than the Mini. The buttons feel durable, the body finish looks clean, and the screen area gives it a more polished look without making it feel fragile.
The G4 Mini still feels solid for its size. Its aluminum alloy body is light but not hollow, and the pod connection feels secure. The main durability tradeoff is grip. The Mini’s smooth body can get a little slippery, while the full G4 has a little more body to hold onto.
For both the Argus G4 and G4 Mini, the pod is made from PCTG, which is a good fit for a refillable cartridge. It stays light and clear enough to check your e-liquid level, but it does not feel thin or fragile. The magnetic connection also feels secure, and there are no small plastic clips or awkward moving parts that seem likely to snap off.
2.4 Ergonomics
The Argus G4 feels better if you like a device with more presence in the hand. It is still slim and pocket-friendly, but it gives you more to grip than the Mini. The screen and controls also make it easier to check what the device is doing without relying on light indicators.
The Mini is easier to pocket and lighter in the hand, but the smooth metal body can feel a little slippery. The smooth body can slide through your palm if you are not paying attention. I would not make a huge issue out of it, but it is something you notice if you are handling it while juggling keys, coffee, and everything else.
The cartridge mouthpiece has nice shape for your lips and does not force an awkward mouth posture, which matters more than people think when you are using a vape all day. The airflow slider also has a pleasing tactile feel. It moves smoothly, but not loosely, so adjustments feel intentional.
3. Battery and Charging
The Argus G4 and G4 Mini both use a 1650mAh battery, which is strong for this size category. VOOPOO claims the battery gives 22% longer life than the previous generation. In our use, it was comfortably an all-day device, and lighter MTL users could probably stretch it closer to a day and a half between charges. Heavier use in 0.7Ω mode will drain it faster, but even then, it feels much more dependable than most tiny pod kits.
The full G4 has the faster charging spec, with USB Type-C 5V/2A charging, while the G4 Mini uses USB Type-C 5V/1.5A charging. In testing, the Mini charged from zero in around 45 minutes, while the full G4 was a little quicker. If you are only topping off from half battery, either one is more of a quick charging pit stop than a long wait.
The battery display is one of the bigger usability differences between the two. The full G4 shows the battery level on its screen. Instead of showing detailed settings, the G4 Mini uses the Energy Bar for visual feedback. The four bars act as the battery indicator, with each bar representing about 25% charge. The Energy Bar also changes color based on how the cartridge is inserted with white for 0.7Ω mode and green for 1.0Ω mode.
4. Performance
The Argus G4 is the better performer if you want control. The adjustable wattage, screen, airflow slider, and multi-ohm cartridge give you more ways to fine-tune the vape. The Mini keeps the same basic 0.7Ω/1.0Ω split, but it is more automatic and less adjustable.
- Argus G4 – Better for users who want a more customizable pod with a screen, adjustable wattage, and a wider 5–35W range.
- Argus G4 Mini – Better for users who want a simpler draw-activated pod with no menu, no wattage adjustment, and quick switching between 0.7Ω and 1.0Ω.
Flavor is strong on both devices. The 0.7Ω mode gives a fuller, warmer vape with more vapor, while the 1.0Ω mode is tighter and cleaner but still full-bodied rather than thin. The full G4 gives you more control over how those modes feel, while the Mini gives you the easier version of the same idea.
5. Price
The Argus G4 Mini looks like it will sit around $18–$25, with VOOPOO currently listing it at $18.99 on pre-sale. The full Argus G4 is higher, currently listed at $32.99 on pre-sale, so it will probably land closer to the $30–$35 range.
That price gap makes complete sense. The Mini is the budget-friendly pick, while the full G4 gives you more hardware and control for the extra money, including a TFT screen, 5–35W output, faster 5V/2A charging, and a fuller kit with two cartridges.
In the end, the better value depends on what you want from the device.
6. Verdict
The VOOPOO Argus G4 is the better choice if you want the more complete device. It gives you the screen, adjustable wattage, faster charging, and a fuller kit, while still keeping the same useful multi-ohm cartridge system. It feels more premium, more flexible, and better suited to someone who likes to fine-tune their vape instead of letting the device handle everything automatically.
The Argus G4 Mini still has a clear place. It is smaller, lighter, cheaper, and easier to use. The flip-to-switch cartridge gives it more range than a basic pod, and the battery life is strong for the size. It just does not give you the same level of control as the full G4.
For most people, the decision comes down to how much control you want.
