Uwell Havok V1 Pod Mod Review – Good Choice to Add to Collection

Test on Power, Battery, and Voltage

In this part, we tested Havok V1’s several indications users might be interested in. Can it fast charge? Does it have the output power it stated? What about the amp? You can check the chart below and find our test results!

The charging rate we tested is 2.0A which matches the stated charging rate. We also tested the output power. The difference is acceptable. When setting the power at 45W, the real time power was 43.9W (only 1.1W difference). When setting the power at 40W, the real time power was 40.9W (0.9W higher). In general, Uwell Havok V1 does a great job.

Performance – 9

We don’t have complaints about the performance of Uwell Havok V1 pod mod kit. It delivers great flavor and we believe this is what vapers care about the most. It performs very well at high wattage (>40W). The flavor is greatly sweet and warm. Vapor is also big. There was no flavor loss even after 3rd refills. Moreover, since we have tested Havok V1 in the lab, each indicator is very ideal (no more than ±3 difference in terms of output power and voltage). Additionally, Havok V1 is a 65W pod mod but if using the 0.25Ω coil, it goes up to 46W for protective reasons (which is enough as the flavor is great). Let’s look forward to other coil options to hit the 65W.

Function – 7

Uwell Havok satisfies your basic needs on a pod mod. You can check your puff numbers, voltage, puff times and clear when in need. It also has over-temperature protection, warning “Too Hot!” if the temperature exceeds 80℃. Havok also fires up very fast. We can hardly test the time difference.

However, we found out that when pressing the fire key 5 times to turn off, Havok will instantly fire 5 times too. We do worry this will damage the coil. Some pod mod has done better: when pressing the fire key to turn off. Only the first pressing will trigger firing. The following 4 times pressings will stop to fire to protect the coil.

Weight and design

When we first got this Havok V1, it was lighter than we expected as the size looks relatively large. There are five colors to choose from. We got the red one and it looks bold and very passionate. There is also Uwell branding on the other side of the device. We kind of like it and think it’s interesting.

In terms of the material, the alloy zinc component feels nice in hand. However, the front side of Havok (where the colorful pattern is) is plastic and is a bit easy to leave fingerprints. Moreover, we’ve put it back in the package after we finished testing. As we took it out again, we found some leakage all over the user manual. When checking the device and pod, there was a little bit of trace of e-liquid.

Pod

Havok pod is connected with the device via magnet and POGO pin, which is very stable and the pod won’t be wobbly. To refill the pod, you don’t need to take off it from the device. Just slide the lid to top-refill it and the sliding is very smooth. The plastic refill cap is more durable compared to silicone pads we usually see. The airflow adjustment is on the pod and you need to take out the pod to adjust, which is a bit inconvenient for us. Sometimes we need to find the preferred airflow to frequently adjust. Therefore, it’s a bit of hassle to put in/out the pod repeatedly.

Furthermore, we all liked the triangle-shaped pod window design. It’s chic and unique. We can clearly see the juice level.

One thing we want to bring out is that after we’ve used 3 refills and had about a half of our 4^th one, we noticed obvious burnt flavor. It might be the misplacement or misfiring during our use. But compared to other pod mods we’ve tried (we can usually use about 5 refills), 3-4 refills is a bit too short for us.

Battery

We tested the charging rate in our lab. The charging rate is at 2.0A which is great. It takes more than 1hr to charge since it has a 1,800mAh battery, but the built-in battery capacity is totally enough for whole day use.

Screen and Operation

The screen of Havok is bright and easy to read, even though the screen size is relatively small. Pressing the buttons requires a little bit of effort. But overall, it’s easy to press and the fire button doesn’t wobble.

On one side, in terms of the basic functions, you can easily get your hands on this pod mod. You can easily check your puff numbers, times, voltage, and power. We have attached some essential operations below for you to check:

Clear puff: Pressing “+” & “-” together

Lock/unlock device: hold fire button and “-” for 1s

Lock/unlock button: hold fire button and “+” for 1s

On the other side, during our use, we found a downside. If turning off the device, the puff numbers will be cleared next time when you turn it on. Also, if we just want to check the info, such as the preset power, puff numbers, and more, yet the screen is off, the power setting will be altered after we press the “+” or “-” button to awake the screen. For instance, if we set 40W in the previous use and we press “+” to awake the screen, the power will turn to 41W. We hope there will be improvement in terms of this issue in the future. 2 points was subtracted due to this.

We’ve checked other products’ prices on elementvape.com. Uwell Havok kit price is reasonable as a pod mod.

Replacement pod is sold for $14.99 ($19.99), 4mL. Aspire Nautilus Prime 60W is sold for $44.99 ($49.99) with an external single 18650 battery required. Replcement pod is sold for $7.99 (12.99), 3.4mL.

Havok V1 replacement coil price also sounds good for a 4mL pod. However, compared to other pod mods we’ve used, if one pod can only be refilled for 3-4 times, it might cost a few for a month based on frequent use.

Overall Thoughts

In general, Uwell Havok V1 is a nice product since it can deliver great flavor, especially the sweetness (we love sweet). It’s easy to use, a nice choice for beginners, too. It doesn’t have complicated functions and the basics work very well. The price is also reasonable.
