Members of World Vapers’ Alliance (WVA) gathered in Brussels on 11th May 2022 and turned to European policymakers to raise their voices against the prospective prohibitions on vape flavors. They presented an installation art under the nose of the European parliament showing a simple message: Flavors Matters.
This event became third under the WVA’s campaign #FlavorsMatter across Europe. WVA introduced this campaign intending to show European and other policymakers worldwide that vape flavors are influential in smoking eradication. The group previously held protests in Sweden, Hague, Stockholm, and Netherlands in March 2022. Soon after the protest, the Dutch prohibition on vape flavors was postponed for six months in the Netherlands.
Michael Landl, director of WVA, works hard in explaining vaping’s roles as an effective aid to quit smoking. In this protest he mentioned, we have previously observed how vaping works! It was useful to millions of people in changing their lives, and now, we want policies to pull ahead. Hence, we are thrilled to see some Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) on our side and helping us defend vaping flavors.”
Flavors take a vital part in helping smokers stop smoking. Millions of Europeans have already ceased smoking after swapping to vaping. The diversification in the flavors is among the most significant reasons making numerous people move to e-cigarettes and never revert to smoking.

Pietro Fiocchi, a European Parliament member, has attended the art installation protest. He said, “we all know that smoking isn’t good. But we have also observed that raising taxes or restrictions aren’t a good working solution.” He further said that he strongly believes other alternative systems to conventional smoking are fundamental in lowering the percentage of lung cancer and other related disorders. The principal approaches in contradiction to these systems are negative and opposing to scientific evidence.
Customers all around Europe can take part in the campaign to take a stand and interact with their political representatives through WVA’s action center and uncover their vaping stories to persuade policymakers to prohibit flavor bans.
Land further added, “we have to call out and show policymakers the positive sides of vape flavors useful in quitting smoking. The report findings show that adults vaping flavored e-cigarettes are more likely to stop smoking than those who take unflavored e-cigarettes. We need to ensure that it should be considered while drafting new regulations. Therefore, we came to Brussels with a simple message: flavors matter.”
