Introduction
OXVA is known for their Orgin X and the Orgin AIO kit and recently stepped into the RTA market with the Arbiter RTA. OXVA Velocity 21700 100W Full Kit is the latest addition from the brand. Powered by a single high-amp battery, it features an output power range of 5W – 100W.
It supports three firing modes of smart, power, and DIY Modes to enhance a satisfying vaping experience. It comes with two pods and compatible with all OXVA coils to offer decent flavours. The Velocity also can be paired with rebuildable atomizers or sub-ohm tanks via a threaded 510 adapter. Let’s take a look at this Velocity 21700 100W full kit from OXVA.
Build Quality and Design
The OXVA Velocity comes with brilliant build quality and a fairly classic design. It features a zinc alloy frame that feels super sturdy in the hands. The curved edges of the body are very comfortable to hold. As a single battery box mod, it features relatively large size of approximately 100mm by 27mm by 40mm. OXVA branding is embossed on one side. The leather texture makes a smooth mod and provides a good amount of grip.
The intuitive firing button and two adjustment buttons are well placed with no button rattle at all. The OLED display screen is easy to read and clearly shows all the vaping info you will need. You can change the colour themes for the LED screen to match the leather panels.
On the pod, there is a 5ml capacity pod. It looks like a standard device with a 510 adaptor installed. The raised gold plated and spring-loaded 510 features a very stiff short throw. The 510 adapter accommodates 25mm atomisers with ease. Below the pod, there are 3 hole airflow inlets that allow plenty of air in from both sides.
Functions and Features
Equipped with a new photon chipset, OXVA Velocity has done a nice job to be a powerful box mod thanks to its 8-volt output. It also utilizes all the safety features like other vape kits, suck as over-discharge protection, overcharge protection, output over-current protection and short-circuit protection.
The adjustable output can be increased by 0.1 volts in voltage mode and in 1-watt increments in wattage mode. The Velocity boasts two wattage modes to meet different vaping needs. With the smart mode, it can automatically limit the maximum output depending on the coils your build. With the power mode, it can provide a full output of 100 watts.
Pods and Coils
The OXVA Velocity kit comes with two pods, which can hold 5ml of vape juice and allows you to swap out the drip tip.
On the top of the device, each pod is held firmly with four large strong magnets. Among two pods, one is compatible with standard OXVA Coils and the other one with the larger opening is compatible with the amazing RBA base coil and the larger Velocity coils.
You can control the airflow via the adjustment on the airflow control base that attaches to the bottom of the coil/RBA. It also allows you to adjust the air running through to the coil. You can install an airflow plug that converts the RBA Base into an MTL Coil. I’m very impressed in DTL mode with half airflow opening.
The Velocity uses a convenient top-fill design and comes with a large fill hole allowing juice in and air out. The pod is made from PCTG plastic and tinted that you can see the vape juice level inside.
There are two coils from the new UniPro range included in the kit. I started with the 0.15ohm coil, which performs well between 60-80 Watts and provides excellent flavour. The 0.30-ohm coil is suitable for lower wattage usage. It is not my vaping style but a nice coil for those who looking for longer battery life. Both coils come with a decent life and have lasted me two weeks.
Battery
The OXVA Velocity can house a 21700, 20700 or 18650 battery. If you want to install the 18650 battery, you need to use the provided grey silicone battery sleeve. I prefer the 21700 battery as they have huge battery capacity and can deliver powerful performance. The USB Type-C port positioned on the front of the device. OXVA claims that it comes with a 2.5 amp charge rate. In my test, it cannot charge completely in one hour. I guess it maxed out at 2 amps charge rate.
Verdict
Overall, OXVA has done a decent job on this device. I enjoyed testing the OXVA Velocity. It is a nice design kit thanks to its excellent e-liquid capacity, menu system, fantastic display and great battery life. The 510 adapter allows you to switch from a classic Pod Mod to a powerful Mod. If you are looking for a versatile device, the Velocity 100W unit is a perfect choice.
