Drag series is an iconic line of VOOPOO and has been making a big hit in the vaping world. Today we’ll talk about the performance of the Voopoo DRAG 3 mod kit, the latest offering of the DRAG line. In terms of the overall design, Drag 3 keeps the standard dual-18650 battery mod and has a lot in common with the DRAG Max and the DRAG 2.
Equipped with an advanced innovation-powered chipset, the DRAG 3 provides a Super Mode for more reliable performance than ever. Build Quality and Design
Drag 3 is a sleek looking device that is very similar in shape of the Drag Max and Drag 2. VOOPOO Drag 3 remains the same size with the Drag Max measuring 122mm tall, 50.25mm deep, and 25mm wide, a suitable size for a dual battery mod. As for construction, it features an elegant and premium design thanks to its zinc alloy frame coated with luxurious leather, delicate metal, with hard geometric lines and brushed patterns. The soft and cushiony leather grip feels comfortable to hold and sits nicely in my hand. The leather grip is stamped with a large “DRAG 3” on one side of the device, along with a printed ‘Gene’.
VOOPOO Drag 3 features a 1.08 inch TFT colour display screen that is bright and easy to read. It shows all the vape info including puff counter and puff duration, battery meter, watts, resistance, mode, volts. Overall, the VOOPOO Drag 3 is a solidly built and stylish device that combines the characteristics of DRAG Series.
Functions and Features
Powered by dual high-amp 18650 batteries, VOOPOO Drag 3 is capable of a 177W max output for increased vapour production. It adopts the newly upgraded GENE.FAN 2.0 chipset that features an extreme ignition of only 0.001s. Drag 3 supports different working modes. On the Smart Mode, the device can automatically set the ideal wattage depending on the coil you are using, preventing you from burning your coil. On the RBA mode, you are allowed to set the wattage while it will still automatically set the wattage when the coil inserted.

TPP Pod Tank and Coils
VOOPOO Drag 3 is compatible with 3 platforms to meet different vaping needs. Equipped with the newly launched TPP atomization platform, it provides an unprecedented flavour and vaping experience. It can hold up a maximum juice capacity of 5.5ml. According to its official, the TPP atomizer is designed with reference to “Aerodynamic Simulation” and a new “Two-way Convection” airway structure to maximize the overall atomization efficiency.
The kit comes with two different coils, the TPP DM2 0.2ohm coil rated 40- 60 watts and the TPP DM1 0.15ohm coil rated 60- 80watts. For this kit, I started off with the 0.15-ohm coil and I found it best around 70 watts. Then I used the 0.2-ohm coil, 50 watts is perfect for this coil and it delivers decent flavour and smooth vapour. The TPP Series coil utilizes the new patented technology to increase the atomization area inside the coil and improve the heating speed. Drag 3 also features a magnetic design to provide a simple and sanitary way of filling. It features a wide range of compatible coils, including TPP coils and the classic PnP VM range. Overall, both coils perform well across the board.
Verdict
Overall, VOOPOO did an excellent job with this device. It offers excellent performance with room for some improvements. I would highly recommend it if you are in the market for a compact and powerful dual battery vape kit.
