Vapers in the Netherlands are rushing to stock up on Flavor Vapes ahead of a flavor ban taking effect in 2024, The Netherlands Times reports.. Emil ‘t Hart of the Esigbond Trade Association states that consumers are hoarding products in specialist stores, particularly those who switched from traditional cigarettes to vaping.

Starting on January 1, 2024, stores in the Netherlands will be prohibited from selling flavored vapes and fluids such as peach, mango, and mint. Only tobacco-flavored products will be allowed. The government hopes that this measure will deter young people from starting nicotine use and transitioning to combustible tobacco products.

However, ‘t Hart believes that this ban will have the opposite effect. He argues that individuals who switch from cigarettes to vapes may be tempted to return to traditional smoking if they are unable to enjoy flavored vapes.

Vapers Order Flavor Vapes Online From Other Countries

According to ‘t Hart, many vapers are resorting to purchasing their flavor vapes online from sellers in other countries such as France, Spain, or China. Additionally, some vapers are visiting physical stores in neighboring Belgium and Germany to fulfill their needs.

The Esigbond filed a legal challenge against the flavor ban in April, and the case is currently progressing through the courts. ‘t Hart anticipates a ruling on the matter during the summer.
