Vaping still sounds like something unique and unfamiliar to the majority of people, making it so difficult to accept the fact that e-cigarettes have been in existence on the shelves for more than 15 years. A lot of changes are taking place rapidly in the vaping industry; meaning that if you just started vaping a couple of years ago, you have indeed been bypassed by several remarkable product generations.

It is without any doubt that this is the best time for vapers. The current products are so much improved compared to what used to be in the market in the past. However, sometimes, to understand where an industry is headed, you need to understand its beginning- and to achieve that, keep reading this article to find out which kind of transformations have taken place in the vaping industry over the past years.

Maturity levels have gone up

Among the most critical transformations that have been experienced in the vaping industry are in presentation and product marketing. The change has been partly a result of increased legislation and partially because of the natural risks of vaping being a major concern rather than viewing it from a counterculture perspective as it used to be.

During the 2010s, when vaping’s popularity started rising, some corporations took major steps in attempting to advertise electronic cigarettes as lifestyle commodities. They involved social media influencers and pretty young models to market their products through attractive photos. In the meantime, e-liquid companies started producing and marketing vape juices that came in popular cereals and candy flavors and even went ahead to copy their packaging. These kinds of sales strategies attracted unnecessary attention to the sector and led to unintended negative results of dissuading smokers who otherwise would have been willing to stop smoking and embrace vaping.

The vaping industry has recently learned lessons from its past mistakes which have made them come up with highly tasteful products. It has become a reality for the vaping companies that vaping sells on its own based on its value. It has fewer side effects compared to smoking and doesn’t lead to a foul smell. It costs less than smoking. Sensitizing smokers on those merits is sufficient to lure them into buying e-cigarettes.

There is a change in Vaping Hardware Preferences

The largest feature of the vaping industry that has witnessed a tremendous transformation is the hardware. The current vaping devices such as the Geek Bar are unique compared to the ones that were used several years ago. The establishment remains unchanged. Just like the ancient e-cigarettes, a modern vaping gadget still applies a heating element that helps in vaporizing a liquid filled with nicotine that the use inhales. However, the physical structure of the device is totally different.

First-general e-cigarettes were almost similar to tobacco cigarettes, and the resemblance was driven by necessity. Today, nearly everybody that smokes in the developed nations knows about vaping. There was a period, though, when virtually no smoker was aware of vaping.

During the onset of vaping, there was a reason to offer visual cues to show a link to smoking. The first people to encounter e-cigarettes got an instant realization that they are electronic devices used for smoking and expressed an urge to know more. The similarity in appearance helped electronic cigarette manufacturers attract their first buyers and were integral to the industry’s early success. Today, vaping devices have increased in size since they no longer need to resemble tobacco cigarettes. The large size helps to increase the shelf life of the devices and generate bigger and more fulfilling vapor clouds.

Development of E-Liquid Flavor is Now More Advanced

Vaping has undergone myriads of transformations in terms of taste quality in the past years. The first electronic liquid companies seemingly concentrated on menthol and tobacco flavors, maybe since they thought smokers would fall for the flavors. Although there were non-cigarette flavors, they only identified with a single note, such as vanilla or cherry.

With the changes in the vaping industry, it was apparent that vapers were not interested in tobacco flavors. It’s common knowledge that vapers tend to incline toward candy, dessert, and fruit flavors. As the number of e-liquid companies increased, a large part of the market was identified with non-tobacco flavors. Some of the well-known e-liquid flavors during the mid-2010s included candy, custard, and cereal flavors.

In the 2020s, e-liquid firms have largely replaced the one-note flavors with highly sophisticated blends. Currently, a vape juice tasting like custard alone is not enough, the accuracy of the taste notwithstanding. Rather, the vaping community is after e-liquids with highly intricate flavor profiles. For example, rather than a plain custard e-liquid, a vape juice in the market today might take custard tart’s flavor alongside a graham cracker base, a lump of whipped cream, and a strawberry drizzle. Today, vape juice manufacturers apply menthol to create a layer of coolness to the flavor instead of making plain menthol e-liquids. The extra nature of the extra flavor makes modern e-cigarettes more fulfilling compared to tobacco cigarettes, and as a result, the number of smokers quitting is very high.
