We finally got Geekvape H45 and we will provide a full review on this pod mod kit. In our previous preview on H45, we’ve compared it a bit with Aegis Hero pod mod kit. Whether it’s the size, battery, or the design, etc., H45 has had some improvements. Will it also give us the same surprise as Aegis Hero did? Let’s find out with us together now!

Design, Quality, and Ease of Use
H45 Mod
Geekvape H45 mod body is made of alloy zinc and leather. On the middle part of the leather, there are three strips, which add some grips for vapers when holding. Also, the leather is designed to be a little puffy, which is like a cushion. The whole mod looks high-end and classic especially in the all-black color.
For the quality, what we can’t miss out here is H45 is claimed to be a new tri-proof pod mod. It’s being more durable, more shock proof, and more scratch resistant. But Geekvape doesn’t say how much more durable it is. To test, we dropped H45 from table for quite a few times and even from the second floor’s window once. Everything worked just fine. The buttons, use, and charging had no problem at all. There were no scratch on the mod body, too. Only on the screen, we found some abrasion marks, but in an acceptable condition, and the screen works fine.
H45 Pod
Geekvape H45 pod houses up to 4mL liquid. It’s in an irregular shape. Therefore, you have to place it in the right direction to put it into the mod. The drip tip is removeable. The airflow is below the drip tip and you can remove it, too. Filling port is on the top of the pod, which is very easy for us to refill e-liquid.
There are two airflow inlets. The indents on the airflow ring adds some grips and friction for vapers to adjust. However, the airflow ring is somewhat too small to operate with one hand.
Geekvape H45 pod adopts a see-through material. We could use to check the remaining juice. However, most of the see-through part is hidden in the mod. That being said, you can’t easily check the juice when the pod is in the mod. You have to take it off to check, which is quite inconvenient.
Screen Display
Aegis Hero features a 0.42 inch OLED screen, while this time, Aegis Hero 2 (H45) has a doubled TFT screen size in 0.96 inch. We were able to check the indicators easily.
Function
We do have one complaint about the Geekvape H45 pod mod, and we have encountered this problem on Geekvape’s other products before, too. Sometimes we took out the pod to check the leaking condition, and every time we put it back on, the screen prompted “New Coil” and we were unable to vape immediately. If you also had the same problem, you can press the “+” or “-” button to get it back to work.
Geekvape H45 supports power mode and surpass mode. To switch mode, press the fire button 3 times. The words Power/bypass will turn from white to orange color. That’s when you can switch mode by pressing “+” or “-” button. To finish opting, long press the fire button.
Here are some other button combinations for you:
- Lock/unlock the button: long press “+” and “-” at the same time
- Stealth mode on/off: long press all buttons (fire, “+” and “-“) at the same time. The screen will go off.
Battery and Charging
The charging port is below the “+” and “-” buttons. H45 pod mod kit adopts type-C charging, which is a great improvement compared to Aegis Hero. It enables us to charge is faster. Also, it has 200mAh more battery capacity than Aegis Hero. Now, we can enjoy longer and faster vaping. Moreover, it supports pass through charging, which means you can vape it during charging.
Leakage
We have used the Geekvape H45 pod mod for a about 2 weeks so far. We found some oil trace on the pod, and the leakage got more serious after use. What’s more, when we pulled the silicone pad of filling port out, we found some oil underneath the pad and it stained out fingertip. We also found some oil on the pad brim after we put the silicone pad back.
Lab Test under Power Mode
Geekvape H45 did great under power mode. The real-time output powers were pretty accurate. One thing about our testing result we want to emphasize is the charging rate. The claimed charging rate is 5V 2A according to Geekvape. However, we only got 5V 0.45A, which was disappointing.
Performance – 6.5
For 0.6Ω coil, the suggested wattage range is from 15W-25W. It’s for restricted DL vaping. When setting at 15W, we didn’t experience much flavor. The vapor amount was little. As setting the power at 22-25W, we could get more flavor but not as much as we expected. The vapor production was moderate. However, when using at the suggested watts, the vapor was all cold. We tried to go over 30 and 40W, and we had much more flavors and much bigger clouds with appropriate warm vapor. But we did have some spit-backs, so we wouldn’t recommend you to go over the suggested wattage.
For 0.4Ω coil, the suggested wattage range is from 30W-45W. It’s for DL vaping. We prefer to use it over 40W. The vapor amount was huge and the flavor was much richer and fuller. When setting between 30-35W, the vapor was a bit cold and the flavor was weak.

Verdict
Geekvape H45 gave us a lot of expectations. It’s portable, light-weighted, and tri-proof. In our lab test, it did great job as well. However, in the real performance, we didn’t have as surprise and pleasant as we had with Aegis Hero. If you already had Aegis Hero, there’s no need to buy the Aegis Hero 2.
Overall, Geekvape H45 is an average pod mod. There are many other great pod mods in the market at even lower price.
