We’ve previously delved into the VAPORESSO LUXE line, examining both the LUXE X PRO and the LUXE Q2 SE. These pod mod vapes impressed us with their performance, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Now, we turn our attention to the VAPORESSO LUXE Q2, a device that shares striking similarities with its sibling, the Q2 SE.

The VAPORESSO LUXE Q2 boasts a rechargeable 1000 mAh battery that ensures long-lasting vaping sessions. The device also offers adjustable airflow, allowing for a more personalized experience. Enhanced by CoreX heating technology, each puff promises consistent flavor and vapor. Adding a touch of luxury, the LUXE Q2 features a deluxe leather body that feels as good as it looks. It comes equipped with two pods, featuring pre-installed mesh coils of 0.6-ohms and 1.0-ohms, and offers a generous 3 mL pod capacity. 2. Design & Quality

2.1 Body Design

The LUXE Q2 has a chic and modern design. The body offers a bit of luxury with a supple leather front and back, connected by vertical metal accents. The metal carries over to the front and back, where it forms the opening that holds the pod. There is another vertical element on the front of the vape, which includes the LUXE Q2 branding and a battery indicator LED.

On the left side of the mod is a sleek metal airflow slider. The slider moves with ease and offers precise adjustments. On the back of the body, the VAPORESSO branding is embossed in the leather. The last point of interest is the USB Type C charging port that is located on the bottom of the vape.

The VAPORESSO LUXE Q2 pod mod is available in five different beautiful and moody colorways: Orange, Black, Blue, Gray, and Green. VAPORESSO’s choice to go in this moody direction adds to the elegance of the vape.

 

 

2.2 Pod Design

The pods that come with the VAPORESSO LUXE Q2 are the same model of pods found in the LUXE Q2 SE. The only difference is the resistance of the pre-installed mesh coils. The Q2 SE comes with one 0.8-ohm 3mL pod, while the Q2 comes with not one, but two 3 mL pods – with 0.6-ohm and 1.0-ohm coils.

The 3 mL pod capacity can reduce the frequency of refills by up to 33% when compared to the common 2 mL pods. Featuring a tinted plastic construction, the pod comes with a silicone cover that shields the refill port.

Unlike the VAPORESSO LUXE X PRO pods, where the refill port is at the bottom, this one is conveniently situated on the side. This design choice simplifies the refilling process, allowing you to easily lay the pod on its side. The base of the pod has two strong magnets and two contacts that connect to the ones on the battery body.

Durability

The leather body of the VAPORESSO LUXE Q2 is not just luxurious, it is also durable and highly resistant to scratches. The metal components add strength to the device, but we did notice that the metal got scratched when dropped on rough surfaces like pavement. This means the body won’t crack, but it may experience some visual wear and tear over time.

 

The same can be said for the reusable pods, constructed of polycarbonate plastic that is durable but susceptible to scratching and teeth marks.

Does the VAPORESSO LUXE Q2 leak?

We are happy to report that the LUXE Q refillable pods stayed dry and leak-free when used with the LUXE Q2. This is the same experience we had when testing the LUXE Q2 SE, which further validates the claims of VAPORESSO’s SSS leak-resistance technology.

 

Ergonomics

The VAPORESSO LUXE Q2 leather body cover is soft and supple in your hand while also offering a texture that creates a solid grip for your hand. The airflow slider is thoughtfully placed, so no weird hand positioning is needed to make adjustments. Overall, the vape has a great ergonomic design that allows for long, comfortable vaping sessions.

3. Battery and Charging

The LUXE Q2 boasts the same type of battery as its sibling, the LUXE Q2 SE—a high-density 1000 mAh unit. The high-density aspect is particularly noteworthy because it allows the battery to store more energy, thereby extending its lifespan between charges. In practical terms, this means that the Q2 can endure approximately 12 hours of continuous vaping.

For the average vaper, who may not use the device consistently throughout the day, this could translate to an impressive 48 to 72 hours before needing a recharge. This long-lasting battery life not only adds convenience but also makes the LUXE Q2 an excellent choice for those who are on the go and don’t want to be tethered to a charger frequently.

 

The battery level can easily be tracked by monitoring the color of the battery indicator LED when vaping. A green LED means the battery is between 70-100% charged, a blue LED is used for 30-70% charge, and a red LED for a 0-30% charge. Once you plug the LUXE Q2 into a USB Type C charging port, you can expect the device to charge to full in about 30 minutes. This rapid charging functionality helps to keep you on the go – all the time!

4. Performance

One of the only drawbacks to the LUXE Q2 SE was the lack of airflow control. Thankfully, this feature is not missing from the LUXE Q2. By adjusting the slider, you can choose between a looser mouth-to-lung (MTL) draw or a restricted direct-to-lung (RDL) draw. Where you choose to see the slider is completely up to you and what kind of experience you are looking for, but the ability to change it up whenever you want is a big plus.

 

The CoreX heating technology is responsible for the gentle warming of the mesh coil, so the vapor is warm, flavorful, and satisfying without being too harsh. The LUXE Q2 has an instant fire sensor that activates with the lightest draw – so you won’t ever feel like you have to huff away just to get a response from your device.

When it comes to the clouds, there’s no noticeable difference between the clouds produced with an MTL draw or an RDL draw. Either way, a full inhale produces huge voluminous vapor clouds that any cloud chaser would enjoy.

On VAPORESSO’s website, the LUXE Q2 is listed at a price range of $26-30, subject to current promotions. This is approximately $10 more than its counterpart, the LUXE Q2 SE. What does that extra $10 get you?
